To get up to speed with the new Angular 2 framework and front-end development in ASP.NET 5, I thought I would implement the Angular 2 “Tour of Heroes” tutorial using Visual Studio 2015 and document it in this post.

Before you begin, make sure you have installed ASP.NET 5, instructions can be found here.

Create a new ASP.NET 5 web application by going to File > New > Project in Visual Studio.

NewProject

Selecting “Empty” from the ASP.NET 5 Templates category will create an empty skeleton ASP.NET 5 web application.

Before we get started, we need to add the following to Startup.cs file
